Here are the top stories in Huntington today:
- South Huntington 2022-23 school budget passes. Residents voted with 907 votes yes and 327 votes no. The district's budget went up 5.7% from last year while the tax levy did not change. (Huntington Patch)
- Check out the most expensive home for sale in Plainview. The real estate market on Long Island is still a seller's market, and sometimes it's interesting to see the prices of homes in your area. - Home on Stoney Hollow Rd. in Centerport burglarized. Someone went through an open window and into the home around 8:50 p.m. Friday night. The burglary was reported on Monday and police are looking for the suspect. (Patch)
- Huntington 2022-23 school budget passes. Residents voted in favor of the budget, 834-150. The district's budget will increase by 2.52%, while the tax levy will not increase. "Your approval will help us to further our ongoing commitment toward addressing the needs of students across the grade levels in a fiscally responsible manner and in the wake of a challenging two-year period," Superintendent Polansky wrote in a statement posted to Facebook. - Huntington Union Free School District: Huntington senior Mary Grace has chosen to attend Duke University. “I chose Duke University because of incredible research opportunities, beautiful campus, rigorous academics and strong school spirit,” Ms. Rorke said. “I plan on majoring in civil engineering at the Pratt School of Engineering. In the future, I hope to design and build water systems, where I can help people get access to clean water.” (Facebook)

- Halesite Fire Department: The Junior Crabbers monthly meeting and drill was a success. The juniors went to work with the fire department's aerial ladder truck. If you have a child who is entering 7th grade in the fall, they are eligible to join the program. (Facebook)
- South Huntington Public Library: If you have an American flag that is soiled, torn, or worn, you can drop it off at the library lobby through the end of June. The flags will be disposed correctly by the Greenlawn American Legion. (Facebook)
