- Huntington police blotter: 2 Found in possession of Fentanyl. Check out the recent arrests made in the area from Dec.12 to Dec.18. Matthew Bruce, 46, of Huntington Station, was found in possession of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia, police said. He was arrested in Huntington Station and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance: narcotic drug w/ intent to sell and two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance: with intent to sell on Dec. 17. Fentanyl overdoses are now the leading cause of deaths for adults ages 18-45. (Huntington Patch)
- Covid-19 cases, deaths rise in Huntington; some restrictions added. As the Omicron variant rages across the world, Huntington has added restrictions and updated hospital numbers. There are 45 COVID-19 patients at Huntington Hospital, and schools and businesses have added their own precautions. Daniel Pedisich of Konoba Huntington said Sunday his restaurant began limiting seating to 50 percent of capacity through Thursday. Finley Middle School will now only allow two spectators per athlete, with no visiting spectators. There will also be no spectators at the boys basketball tournament on Dec. 29. - 6 Drivers arrested at sobriety checkpoint: Suffolk Police. As the holiday season continues, the Suffolk County Police are stepping up their sobriety checkpoints. Six people were arrested at the sobriety checkpoint in Huntington Station between 11 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday, Suffolk police said. 448 cars were stopped. (Huntington Patch)
