  1. Women & Girls Foundation CEO to lead Heckscher Museum of Art. The Board of Trustees of The Heckscher Museum of Art has appointed Heather Arnet as the organization's Executive Director and CEO. Robin T. Hadley, Chair of the Board said, "Heather brings a wealth of leadership experience, innovative thinking, and community engagement to the Museum. We are fortunate to be adding someone of her caliber to The Heckscher Museum." Arnet will join the Museum in June 2022. "I am excited for the opportunity to join such a passionate and creative staff and Board of Trustees team, as we lead The Heckscher Museum of Art into the future. I look forward to applying my experience in community development and civic engagement to advancing the Museum's community-centered efforts and growing its regional and national significance."(Broadway World)
  2. Stimson MS students to Be published in Young Writers Contest: South Huntington. Seventh and eighth graders of Stimson Middle School are set to have their writing published in the Young Writers Contest collection, the South Huntington School District announced. Young Writers is a family-run business established in 1991. Their ethos emphasizes the importance of young writers to read and write with a focus on poetry and creative writing. Young Writers believe published work "boosts confidence, nurtures creative talent and showcases creativity." Congratulations to all the students selected! (Huntington Patch)
  3. Services set Friday for Huntington couple. Memorial services are set for Friday for Susan Munro and Douglas Borheck. The Huntington couple both passed away in January after being in a car accident. Munro died Jan 18 and Borheck passed away on Sunday. The couple became deeply involved in the boating community after moving to Huntington in 1993 from New York City. They owned several boats and became members of the Centerport Yacht Club. The Nolan Funeral Home in Northport is handling services. Viewing is scheduled for Friday from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Mass is scheduled Saturday at 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snows, 258-15 80th Ave., Floral Park.(http://www.huntingtonNow.com)
  4. New Principal starts at Stimson Middle School in South Huntington. Mike Duggan is now serving as the principal of Stimson Middle School, the South Huntington School District announced on Tuesday. Duggan had been working as assistant principal of South Side Middle School in Rockville Centre. (Huntington Patch)
