Here are the top 3 stories today in Huntington:
- Stimson Middle School student earns three medals in Tae Kwon Do competition. Preston Parker won three medals at the 2022 U.S. Olympic Committee/U.S.A. Tae Kwon Do Poomsae Grand Slam 20.0 in Colorado. Park is a seventh grader at Stimson Middle School and received a Proclamation Award presented by the Town of Huntington, on Feb. 1 at Town Hall. The competition took place Jan. 14-16, when Park earned one gold and two silver medals. (Huntington Patch)
- Dix Hills home burglarized. A Dix Hills home was broken into on Saturday night, police reported. A man entered through a window and stole jewelry from a West Farm Drive home shortly after 9 p.m. Burglaries and theft are on the rise in our area, so make sure to keep your doors and windows locked. - Check out the most recent arrests in the area from Jan. 30 to Feb. 5. Two men were arrested after robbing the Sno-Haus store for jackets and Under Armour facemasks on Feb. 4. An employee tried to stop Brandon Sestoso, and he punched the employee in the head. Sesteso was also found to have crystal meth in his possession. He was arrested and charged with second-degree robbery, aided by another and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. (Huntington Patch)
