Here are the top 4 stories in Huntington today:

  1. String of break-ins in Syosset leads to the community on edge. Twelve total businesses were broken into Monday night, with many reporting thousands in damages. "I am shocked a little bit," said Randy Klein, co-owner of Danny's Chinese Kitchen. "We just opened a few days ago, and the community has welcomed us beautifully and then these kids come around and do that, so it hurts a little bit." Nassau County Police are looking for the suspects. (News 12 Long Island)
  2. Oyster Bay Town to host baby formula drive on Sunday. The town will work with volunteers from One Parent to Another. “The goal here is really to help those families who can’t get to the stores, who can’t go from place to place trying to find what they need,” said Carmela Shimansky, who founded One Parent to Another. “We hope to reach as many people as possible so that they can provide for their families.” (Long Island Press)
  3. Police looking for man who stole more than $2,000 in sunglasses. The man stole four pairs of Chanel sunglasses from Sunglass Hut in the Walt Whitman Mall on May 2. Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS. (Huntington Patch)
  4. Friends Of OHEKA Garden Party to be held rain or shine. The event will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and tickets can be purchased online. Tickets are $125 individually or $1,000 for a table of 10. "A ticket to the party includes hors d'oeuvres, a buffet dinner, wine, dessert, and entertainment. There will also be raffles. The castle's traditional Great Gatsby-style clothing is welcomed." (Huntington Patch)
