Here are the top 3 stories in Huntington today:

  1. Town opened warming centers as frigid cold moved in. The town had to open warming centers yesterday as temperatures in the teens hit Long Island. Wind chills were in the single digits all day and the cold weather will be back just in time for the weekend. The warming centers were open just on Tuesday, but we can only hope they bring them back for the weekend. This is the coldest air our area has experienced in three years. Stay warm out there! 2. Huntington police blotter: 3 cars stolen. Take a look at the recent arrests in our area from Jan 2 to Jan 6. Three cars were stolen from home in a matter of three days and two out of three instances the keys were left in the car. Remember to not leave your keys in your car if you are not in visibility of the vehicle. A man was also arrested for breaking into the Town of Huntington storage room and stealing landscaping equipment. (Huntington Patch)
  3. Former 'Impractical Jokers' star Joe Gatto coming to Huntington. Who watches Impractical Jokers here? It was always good for a laugh and former star Joe Gatto is coming to The Paramount. The show is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Feb 6 and you can buy tickets online or at the box office. Gatto said he is committed to his tour regardless of what's going on with COVID-19. "When I committed to my upcoming series of shows starting in the Midwest this week, I obviously had no idea what life would look like at this moment," Gatto wrote. "Regardless, we can all use some laughter and kindness right now, and I'll therefore be keeping all of my dates. Excited to share some laughs with the fans in Iowa this weekend and all over the country in the weeks and months to come."(Huntington Patch)
