  1. Woman arrested in Commack for driving under the influence with her 4-year-old daughter in the car. Kristine Mazza, 33, of Smithtown, rear-ended another vehicle on Harned Road at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday. When police arrived, they determined she was under the influence of drugs while her daughter was in the backseat. Mazza was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger 15 years old or younger (Leandra's Law), driving while under the influence of drugs, second-degree criminal contempt and endangering the welfare of a child.   3. Fifty firefighters battled a house fire in Lloyd Neck. The home on Gerry Lane caught fire Monday evening, and firefighters from Cold Spring Harbor, Huntington Manor, Greenlawn, Centerport, Halesite and Melville fire departments all responded. No one was injured and the firefighters had the blaze under control in an hour. (Huntington Patch)
