  1. Huntington Station woman sentenced for stealing from Kids Aid Company. A Huntington Station woman who embezzled over $150,000 from Kids Aid company was sentenced to a year in jail. The company provides services to children with developmental delays. Patricia Sales pleaded guilty on Nov. 17, 2021 and was sentenced today to 364 days in jail. “After discovering Sales had failed to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in payroll taxes to the IRS as All About Kids’ director of finance, further investigation revealed the defendant used the company coffers as a personal bank account, issuing herself checks and stealing tens of thousands of dollars in company funds,” said Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly. “Individuals who abuse their authority for personal gain will be caught and held accountable for their actions.” (Patch)
  2. Over-the-top burrito spot Fat Boy's opens third LI location in East Northport. Fat Boy's Burrito Co. has opened at 4097 E. Jericho Turnpike, marking another establishment on their way to becoming a dominant burrito chain in a heavy competitive Long Island market. Many customers wondered when they would open, as a darkened sign with their logo was hung up on the storefront for months. Finally in early February Fat Boy's opened, and this is their largest location. The menu offers some of the most over-the-top burritos you can find, blaring music, and an overall great vibe, so make sure you head down and check it out. (Subscription: Newsday)
