Huntington Nonprofit Provides Sports Goggles to Young Soccer Players

The nonprofit, run by two Huntington sisters, allowed the athletes to receive free sports goggles, prescription lenses and eye exams.

A local nonprofit run by two Huntington sisters that provides hundreds of families across Long Island with free eyeglasses recently helped out low income athletes at their latest event.

Eye Partners Inspire, which is run by Walt Whitman High School students Epiphany and Gabrielle Ramirez, provided five Hicksville soccer players, ages 9 to 14, with complete sets of sports goggles on Jan. 16.

EPI’s latest program, Safety in Sports, works with local sports clubs and opticals to offer sports goggles to low income athletes.

A complete set of sports goggles is $279 and a comprehensive eye exam is $98. Thanks to EPI and help from Optix Family Eye Care of Plainview, the children did not have to pay any fees.

Being able to see on the soccer field is an important component of athletics. These students can expect to have a much clearer soccer experience through the Safety in Sports program.

Many of the athletes who received glasses wrote EPI letters thanking them for the donation. Read a few of the letters below:
