- New details on mysterious salmonella outbreak affecting New York. There has been a national salmonella outbreak that has affected hundreds of people, and investigators have not found the food source yet. They have linked the strain, Salmonella Oranienberg, to a restaurant takeout container containing lime and cilantro. Two people have been hospitalized in New York, with the greatest chances for severe cases being ages 5 and under, and over 65. (Huntington Patch)
- The 2021 Long Island Fall Festival happens this October in Huntington. It's that time of the year folks, fall on Long Island. It does not get much better than this, and we're here to tell you about the Long Island Fall Festival. It’s free to the public and offers various attractions, such as four stages of entertainment, a world-class carnival, hundreds of arts and craft vendors, international food courts, a farmer’s market, and numerous kid-friendly activities. The festival is held at Heckscher Park, and considered one of the best in the Northeast. (Greater Long Island)
- $3K raised to fight cancer By Huntington, Harborfields swim teams. The girls varsity teams joined forces to participate in the seventh annual Swim Across America fundraiser to help fight cancer. "I am so proud of the work that our swim team and their coach Kiri Thomsen are doing," said Robert Franco, the district's director of health, physical education and athletics in a news release.
