Here are the top stories today in Huntington:

  1. Shots fired at man in golf cart in Huntington park: police. It was a beautiful Monday morning that quickly turned into panic at Heckscher Park. Shots were fired at a town worker in a golf cart around 9:30 a.m. and the driver fled the scene. Buildings and schools were placed on lockdown, and police were all over the scene, closing the park for hours. An arrest has not been made, and detectives believe the shooting was targeted.   2. Priciest home sales in Melville. With the real estate market on Long Island booming, take a look at the highest prices homes in Melville. Melville is a town over from Huntington, and has better access to all highways and is still easily accessible to all the good spots in Huntington. These three homes were the highest priced in October. (Long Island Business News)
  3. Revitalizing Huntington Station: spray park set to open Spring 2022. Part of Huntington Town Supervisor Chad Lupinacci’s plan to revitalize Huntington Station, includes a new water spray park at Manor Field Park.“In the spring of 2022, the children of Huntington Station will have this first-class spray park in their backyard, along with a brand-new playground and new turf field that athletes of all ages can enjoy,” said Deputy Supervisor Councilman Ed Smyth.
