  1. Candidate Profile: Stephanie Bontempi for Suffolk Legislature. Republican Stephanie Bontempi is set to run against Democrat Mark Cuthbertson in the 18th Legislative District; the office held by Democratic Legislator William Spencer. Spencer is not running for re-election.
    The 18th Legislative District is composed of Cold Spring Harbor, Greenlawn, Lloyd Harbor, Huntington, Halesite, Huntington Bay, Centerport, Northport, Asharoken and Eaton's Neck, as well as parts of Huntington Station, Elwood and East Northport.   2. Walt Whitman High School to host homecoming, hall of fame induction. Whitman is slated to host its Homecoming Parade, varsity football game and its South Huntington's Hall of Fame induction, according to a news release. The induction is every two years, but was postponed last year due to COVID-19. The Wildcats are 5-0 and face Commack on Saturday at 6 p.m., looking to stay undefeated. (Huntington Patch)
  3. Huntington Community First Aid Squad shines in Albany. Members of the Huntington Community First Aid Squad (HCFAS) and its youth division, HCFAS Youth Post 215, were presented awards by the New York State Volunteer Ambulance & Rescue Association (NYSVARA) at the annual education conference held in Albany. HCFAS Post 215 Youth Squad was named the EMS Youth Squad of Excellence. (thehuntingtonian.com)
