This Weekend at The Huntington Arts Festival

A mix of music, theater and dance.

This weekend the Huntington Summer Arts Festival includes music, theater and dance. Performances start at 8:30 p.m. at Heckscher Park in Huntington, at Main Street (25A) and Prime Ave.

WindSync will be performing in the Summer Arts Festival on Thursday. Find out why the Houston Chronicle called them “revolutionary chamber musicians.” The group incorporates costumes and choreography is dedicated to teaching tolerance through music education in schools.

Carlos Nunez, dubbed “the Jimi Hendrix of Bagpipers” performs Friday. Nunez is best known for playing the gaita, “the bagpipes of Galicia, Spain’s northwest, Atlantic Ocean-abutting region rich in vibrant, uniquely expressive Celtic traditional music,” according to the Huntington Arts Council.

“Little Shop of Horrors” is presented Saturday. The rock musical that’s part comedy, part horror, by composer Alan Menken and writer Howard Ashman, is about a worker at a flower shop who raises a plant that feeds on human blood and flesh.

RIOULT Dance NY performs Sunday. The modern dance troupe tours nationally and Internationally.
