Here are the top four stories in Huntington today:

  1. Senior at Harborfields named Heisman Scholarship Program winner. Nahrahel Louis received the award for excelling in the classroom, on the field, and in the community. “I don't believe there is a more deserving student-athlete to receive this award than Nahrahel,” Athletic Director Rob Franco said via news release. “His high academic achievement, hisinvolvement, and his leadership role in the many extracurricular activities he participates in make him the perfect candidate to be recognized. Nahrahel participates in many community awareness projects and has a deep commitment to leave a positive impact on the people and world around him.” (Huntington Patch)

  3. Police are looking for man who stole a pickup truck from a Huntington Station car wash in October. The suspect stole a 2007 Dodge Ram parked outside Turnpike Car Wash, at 217 W. Jericho Turnpike, around 12:45 p.m. Oct. 13, police said. The truck was left running and unattended while it was being serviced, when the thief jumped in and drove away westbound. He is wanted for grand larceny. (Huntington Patch)
  4. Four Huntington Village restaurants will host World Cup viewing parties. The restaurants participating in the World Cup Tour are Finley’s of Green Street, The Last Word, Vinoteka 46 and Mission Taco. They will offer food and drink discounts and display the games with no entry fee. “This is our way of bringing soccer fans together on Long Island during the World Cup,” said Jose Tutiven, the executive director of Colored Colors, who is running the project. “But everyone’s invited, even if your country is not in the World Cup.” (Huntington Now)
