• Huge Waves Draw Surfers To Long Island's Shore (southshorepress.com) — Islip saw some of the strongest winds from the recent nor'easter, with gusts reported between 48 and 52 mph as huge surf pounded Long Island's south shore. While surfers flocked to Long Beach for rare overhead waves, officials warned of downed trees, power line hazards, and beach erosion affecting communities like Islip.
