CELEBRATE 7th ANNUAL SLAVIC NIGHT AT THE KINGS PARK HERITAGE MUSEUM

Join the Kings Park Heritage Museum for a night of music, dance and performances celebrating Slavic culture.

Join the Kings Park Heritage Museum for a night of music, dance and performances celebrating Slavic culture and the rich traditions of the East-Central European region.

The Seventh Annual Slavic Night will be held 7pm to 8:30pm on Friday, Nov. 21st at the Kings Park Heritage Museum, RJO Auditorium. This free, family-friendly event will include excerpts from The Nutcracker Ballet, performed by Encore Dance Academy; Nick Sassano and Andrew Monaco performing gypsy pieces; ‘Perfect Strangers,’ a flute and guitar duet; the Heritage Folk dance Troop, performing traditional dance; a hilarious Slavic fairy Tale by the Puppet Theater Show; and the Kings Park High School Orchestra performing Central European songs.

The Kings Park Heritage Museum will be open before and after the event with free admission. The event is presented by the Kings Park Heritage Museum and is part of the cultural series the museum offers to the community. Upcoming ‘cultural nights’ include Latino, Hawaiian/Polynesian, Greek and more. Bring your family to enjoy the diverse songs, stories and dance from these fascinating regions and cultures.

Encore Dance Academy dancers: Led by “Miss Kelly” Komorowski, Encore has been part of the Kings Park community for 13 years.

Nick Sassano: An award-winning guitarist and composer. Special guest, Andrew Monaco.

‘Perfect Strangers:’ This musical duet is new to Slavic night.

Heritage Folk Dance Troop. This group, headed by Kris Melvin and Jodie Pawluk, has been keeping traditional folk dance custom alive for over 30 years. It originated at Smithtown’s Byzantine Church of the Resurrection and regularly performs at area festivals and events in full costume.

Puppet Theater: An all-new cast from Kings Park High School performs Slavic fairy tales.

Kings Park High School Orchestra: Under Mr. Nowak’s direction take a magical, musical journey through Central Europe.
