Wrestling has taken center stage this week in Section 1. Now that the opening round of the dual meets are complete the finals have been set. Division 1’s finals will be held at North Rockland High School at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 14. Top seeded Fox Lane will take on North Rockland and Brewster will square off against New Rochelle. As for Division 2, Edgemont and Nanuet will hit the mat at 4:30 p.m. at Edgemont on Dec. 12.

Sport: Boy’s Basketball

Game: Mamaroneck vs. Gorton

Score: Mamaroneck Won 59-42

Highlights: Alex Lanni picked up 24 points and 10 rebounds in Mamaroneck’s win. Gerry McMullin added 10 points.

Sport: Girl’s Basketball

Game: Mamaroneck vs. John Jay

Score: John Jay Won 47-19

Highlights: Maggie Sullivan led Mamaroneck with seven points.
