As far as age and, more importantly, experience goes, what type of team do you expect to have this season?
“We have a very young team this year. We only have four seniors on the roster. Our junior class is very strong, and we do have many experienced players.”
What were some of the weaknesses your team had last year that you hope to improve upon this season?
“Our main weakness last year was not reaching the sectional finals. This is a goal we have this year, and we all believe it is obtainable.”
Who are some of your returning players coming back who you see being big contributors?
“Many of our key point leaders return this year, including Peter Conley and Scott Greenberg. Other midfielders, including Daniel McCarthy, and Dylan Pailes Friedman will also play very important roles. On attack, we expect big things from Justin Csenge. On defense, Nick Charla, Alex Roth, and Alex Lanni all look excellent. We also will rely heavily on both our goalies, Simon Cantwell and Thomas Brill.”
Who are some of your new players you are expecting to thrust into a larger role on the team?
“Reed Malas is an outstanding freshman. We are expecting big contributions from him this season.”
How has the team been preparing in the off-season?
“The boys were in the weight room frequently, participated in open gym and field practices, and many played on a winter indoor team.”
What are your goals for the season as a team?
“As a team, our goals include working hard, improving every practice, supporting each other, and reaching the Section One Finals.”
Are there one or two games circled on the schedule this season?
“Bronxville, Scarsdale, and White Plains have been our biggest league rivals. Outside of our league, we look forward to playing Fairfield Ludlow High School in Connecticut and Oceanside High School in Long Island.”
What are you personally looking forward to this season?
“I share the same goals and expectations as the players do.”
