Daily Sports Digest: Tiger Hockey Wins At Ithaca; H.S. Holiday Hoops Action Continues

The first string of tournaments wrapped up yesterday at the Westchester County Center as 64-60 to take home the boys basketball championship and White Plains outlasted Poughkeepsie 47-43 in the consolation game.

On the girls side of things 51-39 in the tournament championship while Brewster edged out Kennedy 38-28 in the tournaments consolation game.

Two new tournaments will begin today at noon as five more games are scheduled to tip off every two hours. Check out the complete bracket for scheduling and results and remember that the charges are $5 a ticker per day and $5 to park.

Iona College volleyball coach John Killingbeck announced yesterday that his winter skills clinic will be held on Jan. 8. The clinic is from 1-4 p.m. and it is open to students from grades 6 through 12. The cost is $50 for preregistration and $60 for walk ups. Game: Mamaroneck vs. Ithaca

Score: Mamaroneck Won 5-0

Highlights: Five Tigers scored as Brett Poniros made 19 saves in the shut out victory. Jake Danehy, Teddy Bellis, Chris LeBlanc, Nathan Mullaney and Robert Morris each found the back of the net once in the victory.
