The Mamaroneck Tigers fell in the state championship game for the third straight season. This year the team fell to Sachem after six grueling rounds of penalty strokes. Mamaroneck’s season ended with a stellar record of 20-2.

Yesterday’s Results:

Sport: Field Hockey

Game: Mamaroneck vs. Liverpool State Semifinals

Score: Mamaroneck Won 3-0

Highlights: Jessica Gardiner, Hannah Fitzgerald and Alicia Meglio each scored for Mamaroneck in the win sending the Tigers to the state finals. Nina Kumar had seven saves.

Sport: Field Hockey

Game: Mamaroneck vs. Sachem East State Championship 

Score: Sachem East Won 0-0 (3-2 In Penalty Strokes)

Highlights: During regulation Mamaroneck had more shots on goal but neither team could find the back of the net. Nina Kumar had five saves for the Tigers as the team fell in penalty strokes.

Game: State Championship Full Results

Highlights: Mamaroneck sophomore Bridget Johanson competed in the 500 Yard Freestyle in the state championships. Johanson came in with a time of 5:22.78.

Today’s Schedule:

A cheerleading tournament will be held today and tomorrow at the Westchester County Center. Rye Neck and Mamaroneck are both expected to compete.
