Busy week of action for both Mamaroneck and Rye Neck teams.

Mamaroneck

Baseball

Mamaroneck cruised to two easy wins this week. First, the Tigers beat New Rochelle 11-4 on April 27. In the victory, Dean Chiapparelli had four hits, including a home run and four RBIs.  Sam Gruppo added two RBIs. Greg Denyssemko earned the win.

Next up for the tigers was Gorton, and it was a 19-0 victory for Mamaroneck. Richard Dropkan had four RBIs and Ryan Gerspach added three. The Tigers used five different pitchers in the shutout.

Softball

The week began with an 8-3 win over Mount Vernon. Danielle Deandrea had two hits and three RBIs for the Tigers, who scored four runs in the first to take control of the game. Emily Silver had three hits and three RBIs.

But the Tigers dropped their next game, a 6-5 loss to New Rochelle. Mamaroneck trailed 3-0 going into the seventh inning before rallying for five runs in the top of the seventh. New Rochelle then scored three in the bottom of the seventh for the win. Deandrea had two RBIs in the loss. Haley Reid had two hits and an RBI.

Boys lacrosse

Mamaroneck had a great week, first beating Hastings 12-4. The Tigers led 9-0 after three quarters. Alex Liebert had four goals for the Tigers. Dustin Schwartz added two. Josh Trachtenberg had two assists.

The Tigers followed that win up with a thrilling 6-5 win over Fairfield Ludlowe High School. Peter Conley had three goals for the tigers in the win.

Girls lacrosse

The Tigers dropped a high-scoring game, 22-20 to Edgemont to start the week. Abby Baigelman had six goals and five assists in the defeat. Lauren Rush added four goals and an assist.

Mamaroneck rebounded well from the defeat to Edgemont with a 14-9 win over New Rochelle. Rush had four goals for the second straight game. Emilie Scanlon, Jessica Gardiner and Molly Cohen all had two.

The week concluded with a 17-7 loss to North Rockland on Saturday. Rush and Baigeman each had two goals in the loss.

Rye Neck

Baseball

The Panthers played Briarcliff twice this week. In the first game, Briarcliff won 8-1. Rye Neck scored its lone run on a home run by Matt Monaco. Rye Neck responded the next day with an impressive 1-0 victory. Ryan Pennell went the distance for the Panthers, allowing just two hits. Rye Neck's run came in the fourth inning on an RBI by Justin Franks.

Softball

It was a fantastic week for Rye Neck softball, winning four games in four days. First came in a 17-1 win over Blind Brook. Marissa Bella and Jessica Calvini each drove in three runs.  The Panthers followed that win up with an 8-4  victory over Irvington. Nikole Morgan drove in two runs in the victory. Rye Neck made it three in a row with a 16-0 win over Keio. Calvine had four hits and five RBIs. Ashley Cables contributed three RBIs. Vanessa Laise, Nicole Maggio, and Georgia Richardson all had two RBIs in the win. Morgan picked up her  first win of the season.
