Mamaroneck 2YO's Death Ruled A Homicide

The child's mother was arrested and charged with attempted murder of a police officer.

MAMARONECK, NY — The death of a Mamaroneck 2-year-old has been ruled a homicide. The Westchester County District Attorney’s office issued a statement Wednesday after a report in the Journal News said the attorney of Steven Boyd, the father of toddler Gabriella Boyd, said he was told of the results by prosecutors.

A spokeswoman for the DA confirmed the medical examiner’s report stated that the cause of death was “undetermined,” but the manner of death has been ruled a “homicide.”

She also stated that the DA’s office position is that “it is up to the family whether or not the autopsy findings will be made public. The autopsy will be presented to the grand jury. Since this is an ongoing investigation, there will be no further information from the district attorney’s office.”
