Mamaroneck Sweeps Sleepy Hollow in Tennis
Robby Mullman and Alex Kupferman led the way for the Tigers.
On a beautiful evening with low humidity, Mamaroneck defeated Sleepy Hollow 7-0 in a non-league tennis match. Despite the lopsided defeat, Sleepy Hollow's top two singles players gained the respect of their stronger Mamaroneck opponents.
Mamaroneck's Robby Mullman a former ranked USTA player at age 14 and now Mamaroneck's starting middle linebacker on its fall football team, defeated Ben Hofling 6-0, 6-0 in first singles.
Mullman was impressive, using his great size to play a powerful game while also displaying nimble feet.

"Hofling definitely made me work," Mullman said "He just wasn't able to close out points."
In second singles, Mamaroneck's Alex Kupferman easily beat Sleepy Hollow seventh grader Jason Cai. Despite struggling against a talented player like Kupferman, Cai showed promising talent. His foot speed and technique were great for a player so young, and he impressed Mamaroneck coach Timothy Hooker.
