Mamaroneck Head Coach Laurie DeRosa called a timeout with nine seconds remaining but the Raiders held on for the victory.

Despite this, Scarsdale coach Cece Berger's stressed that there were still things her team needed to work on such as defense as Scarsdale let 18 goals slip by Raider goalie Kim Grinhaus compared to its season average of 7.5.

"A win is a win but we got a lot of work to do before next week," she said.

DeRosa was proud of her team's effort throughout the day especially on defensive transitions and draws through the middle of the field.

"We transitioned the ball very well," she said. "I'm really proud of how everyone moved the ball throughout the game."

The Tigers' good ball movement earned them several possessions.

"I'm proud of the way they played and they were proud of themselves," she said.  "It was probably one of the best game's we've played all year."

Both teams await their next opponents in sectional play which is slated to begin May 22.

Kim Grinhaus had nine saves in goal for the Raiders. Eliza Stephanz had six for the Tigers.

Carly Levine, Allie Grant, and Liz Felix each led the Raiders with four goals. Jennie Pechman scored three to go along with one assist with Leone having two.
