Tigers Beat Rye Neck Panthers 48-45
Despite victory, MHS coach says they could have done better
The Mamaroneck Tigers kept their record of no losses this basketball season, after defeating the Rye Neck Panthers 48 to 45 on Dec. 30th at Mamaroneck High School.
Coach Tyrone Carver said that he was satisfied with his team, but that they could have done better. "I am gratified with the win," he said. "But we did not play well, we played only 16 minutes of the game, not 32."
The Panthers lost a very close game. John Aguilar, coach of the Panthers, said he was proud of his team. "We played our hearts out," he said. "We had seven guys when we usually have eight, so we came out a little short."
The stands were packed, with supporters for both schools screaming, "Come on, Tigers!" and "We are proud of you, Panthers!"
