Trader Joe's Adds Products to Frozen Vegetable Recall

The products have been removed from store shelves and destroyed.

The recall of frozen vegetable continues to expand with the addition of three Trader Joe’s products.

The food retailer sent an email to its customers Monday, May 9 that said there is a potential contamination of Listeria monocytogenes in all lot and date codes of Trader Joe’s Vegetable Fried Rice (SKU/Barcode 00521482) and Trader Joe’s Chicken Fried Rice (SKU/Barcode 00332514).

Trader Joe’s said all the aforementioned products were removed from the shelves and were destroyed.

The company said, if the products had already been purchased, that they should not be eaten. They can be discard or taken back to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund.

Trader Joe’s also said its Trader Joe’s Super Sweet Cut Corn (SKU/Barcode 00299633) with the following lot codes may be contaminated with Listeria:

The “xx” is a placeholder for hours of production, the company said. Codes that start with the highlighted first nine digits have been recalled.

CRF Frozen Foods of Pasco, WA, expanded its voluntary recall of frozen food items to include all “frozen organic and traditional fruits and vegetables”—358 in total—labeled under 42 different brand names including Walmart's store brand, a Trader Joe's label, Kirkland label sold in Costco stores, Safeway Kitchens labels, and Wild Oats lines, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

There are Trader Joe's in Hartsdale, Scarsdale and Larchmont.
