UJA's Westchester Business Division Honors Leaders
David Ruzow of Waccabuc and Alan Weissman of Rye Recognized for Commitment to Helping Those in Need and to the Community at Large
UJA-Federation of New York’s Westchester Business and Professional Division honored David Ruzow of Waccabuc and Alan Weissman of Rye at its 2018 Annual Luncheon on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Brae Burn Country Club in Purchase, New York.
More than 235 guests came together to pay tribute to Mr. Ruzow and Mr. Weissman for their leadership in the Westchester Jewish community and to support UJA-Federation in its mission of caring for people in need, responding to crises close to home and far away, and shaping the Jewish future.
Mr. Ruzow is the owner and president of Eastern Appraisal Company, a full-service real estate appraisal and consulting firm in Pleasantville, and he also serves as president of Granite Real Estate Tax Consultants, LLC, which helps property owners reduce their property assessments.

A past president of Temple Beth El of Northern Westchester in Chappaqua, he serves as a member of the UJA’s Westchester Program Services Cabinet and previously served as co-chair of UJA’s Synergy Westchester Advisory Council. He is a board member of the Westchester Jewish Council.
Alan Weissman is principal of Alfred Weissman Real Estate, LLC, in Harrison, which provides services in commercial real estate investment, asset management, and development.

Mr. Weissman has served on the board of directors of the Yonkers Chamber of Commerce, the Westchester Land Trust, the Community Planning Council, the Center for Entrepreneurial Jewish Philanthropy (CEJP), the Solomon Schechter School of Westchester, and the Yonkers Public Library Foundation. A past president of the Yonkers Jewish Council, he is a current board member of CJEP and Homrun, which helps Israeli companies sell their innovative products abroad.
The event raised funds for UJA-Federation, which supports a network of more than 80 core partners and hundreds of other nonprofit organizations, large and small.
Barbara Bel of Scarsdale and Robert Shasha of New Rochelle served as event chairs. Debra Abrahams Weiner of White Plains and Ben Blumberg of Larchmont serve as chairs of the Westchester Business and Professional Division.
