Junior at Mamaroneck High School

Whiz Kid’s Accomplishment:  Anima recently won an impressive state title for running 1000 meters with a time of 2:50 at the indoor track and field state championships at Cornell University.  Prior to winning the state title, Anima set a Section 1 record for 1000 meters at the state qualifier match.  Anima was also a March 4 AT&T Athlete of the Week on the Armory Track site.

Keys to Awesomeness: Anima started running for the track team during the winter semester of her freshman year at MHS.  Initially she joined the team to stay in shape, but ended up distinguishing herself as a winner when she won a state championship the following spring.

In addition to running track for the Mamaroneck Track Team, Anima played for the MHS varsity soccer team last fall and in her sophomore year of high school.

Although she describes school this year as  “stressful,” Anima likes to travel, relax and hang out with friends in her spare time.
