Division makes the most of two hits in 7-3 victory over Glen Cove HS

Division and Glen Cove HS both managed to manufacture multiple scoring threats, but it was Division that eventually took advantage of them in a 7-3 win at Glen Cove HS.

Glen Cove HS got three hits compared with just two for Division, but Glen Cove HS stranded 11 on base.

Tyler Crafa led Division's offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. Crafa singled in the seventh inning.

Anthony Papa kept Glen Cove HS off balance while he was on the rubber. Glen Cove HS managed just one hit off of Papa, who allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out seven during his five innings of work.

The bottom of the first saw Glen Cove HS take an early lead, 1-0.

Division never surrendered the lead after the second inning, scoring two runs on a fielder's choice and a groundout by Adam Herbert.

Division tacked on another two runs in the fourth. A ground out scored Crafa to get Division on the board in the inning. That was followed up by Papa's single, scoring Jesse Natale.

Division piled on three more runs in the top of the fifth. A bases loaded walk scored James Curti to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by a sacrifice fly by Crafa that scored Aaron Gerner.

After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the seventh, Glen Cove HS faced just a 7-3 deficit. A fielder's choice and a walk gave Glen Cove HS life. Finally, Crafa got Glen Cove Batter to strike out to end the game.
