Welcome to my new singles blog…

Who am I?  Professional matchmaker, advice columnist, winner of Best Matchmaker of the Year for 2009, 2010, and 2011 by "The Long Island Press", winner of The top 50 most Influential women by “The Irish Voice” and founder of Maureen Tara Nelson Private Matchmaking, Inc.

I am very thankful and blessed to have been Matchmaking for over 11 years, and have over 1,000 success stories.  I meet with every client personally and privately, and match them based upon compatibility.  I am the only Matchmaker that shows photos; therefore my clients have the opportunity to approve every potential match before meeting them. 

Born and raised in Levittown, I have lived here for 44 years, except for my education I received at University of South Florida.  Wishing not only for a successful career, but a family, I immediately returned to my roots, because I knew the most family oriented town is Levittown.  Being the youngest of six children, we all either live in Levittown, or a few minutes away.  We all grew up learning the importance of being family oriented. 

I have two children, Brendan (16), and Ryan (14), who after they complete college, will hopefully one day take over the business of Maureen Tara Nelson Private Matchmaking, as well as the tradition of raising their children in our wonderful family oriented town. 

I have been very fortunate to have appeared on many television shows, radio shows, and have published many articles on the subject of dating and Matchmaking.

What got me into Matchmaking? My divorce 11 years ago.  I learned how opposites attract; however, they are the worst things for us.  A marriage needs both compatibility and chemistry to survive. 

My goal with my blog, is to give dating tips that will help Levittown singles in their daily dating lives.  I am really looking forward to this exciting opportunity!
