Authority is seldom the simple product of age or inheritance. In our fractious world it gains legitimacy through honest practice and commitment. Earlier articles emphasized the value inherent in listenng. Those who we raise, teach, mentor deserve our attention. There is certainly enough controversy worthy of discussion, foreign policy, domestic security, educational philosophy, economic protocols, the drug crisis. All easily lend themselves to critical analysis and debate.
Future submisions to "Counterpoint" will incorporate the writings of varied contributors. Many are former students, others simply drawn by the desire to express. The inherent reason for "Counterpoint" remains the same and most columns will continue to be my own. The ideas presented will simply bear an additional lavor.
Our gambit should prove interesting. Join us if you wish.
