Division Dragons Varsity Completes Sweep of Roslyn.

Division Dragons Varsity refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against Roslyn, recording a 13-3 victory on Thursday at Roslyn High School. Ten runs in the first three innings allowed Division Dragons Varsity to put the game away early. An RBI single by Anthony Papa, a two-run single by Joe Spitaleri, an RBI single by Dan Boldi, and an RBI single by Adam Herbert in the first inning gave Division the early lead. An RBI single by Papa, an error, a sacrifice fly by Dan Boldi, and an RBI double by James Varela during the second inning supplied the additional early offense for Division Dragons Varsity. Mark Martinez boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 3-3 day at the plate to pace Division Dragons Varsity. He singled in the second, third, and fifth innings. Joe Spitaleri was also 2 for 2 on the day. Papa recorded the win for Division Dragons Varsity. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out five, walked one and surrendered six hits. Division Dragons Varsity got one-run rallies in the third inning and the seventh. In the third, Division Dragons Varsity scored on an RBI double by Nick Boldi, scoring Martinez.
