Division Dragons Varsity and Plainedge lit up the scoreboard on Saturday as they combined for 18 runs. In the end, Division Dragons Varsity won the offensive battle 10-8 in seven innings. Hitters on both sides were strong at the plate as the teams combined for 17 hits, including three extra base hits. Division Dragons Varsity would not relinquish the lead as Plainedge was unable to weather a eight-run fourth inning deficit. Plainedge scored 5 runs in the fifth and 3 runs in the seventh inning. Despite its efforts, Plainedge couldn't get over the hump. Joe Piscitelli racked up three RBIs on three hits for Division Dragons Varsity. He singled in the first, second, and sixth innings. Anthony Papa had 4 RBIs on the day. Anthony Semonella recorded the win for Division Dragons Varsity even though he allowed five runs over six innings. Semonella struck out six, walked three and gave up five hits. The game's last lead went to Division Dragons Varsity thanks to a second inning rally that saw four runs cross the plate on two singles. Division Dragons Varsity added four more runs in the bottom of the fourth. A triple by Anthony Papa ignited the offense, bringing home Dan Boldi, James Varela and Justin Wertz. Division Dragons Varsity brought home one run in the fifth inning, and matched that run total in the sixth. In the fifth, Division Dragons Varsity scored on an RBI single by Chris Reilly, scoring Joe Spitaleri.
