Man Charged With Stealing Clothes From Levittown Flea Market

The man burned a hole in the locked mesh security gate at a kiosk to steal clothes, police say.

LEVITTOWN, NY - A Levittown man was arrested on Tuesday for stealing clothes from a local flea market last month, according to Nassau Police.

On Tuesday March 22, at 2:15 p.m., Michael Chartorynsky, 25, gained access to “Lily’s Sweats”, a secured kiosk inside the Tri-County Flea Market on 3041 Hempstead Turnpike and proceeded to steal assorted clothing, police said.

He then burned a hole in the locked mesh security gate at “Raj Sweatshirts”, also located in the flea market, and stole more clothing, police said.

An investigation identified Chartorynsky and he was placed under arrest without incident at his home on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

He is charged with two counts of third degree burglary and fifth degree arson, police said.
