
Much of the future costs of generous teacher pensions and lifetime health care are still unfunded and will only add to tax burdens. No major business will locate to Long Island because of the uncertainty of future taxes and the last Grumman employees are slated to leave. Thirty years ago Grumman had 20,000 employees and there were tens of thousands of others in smaller tech and manufacturing supply chain companies serving Grumman; all of these good paying jobs. Now the only new jobs will be in nail salons and pizza stores.
