A donation jar meant to collect money to send Girl Scout cookies to troops serving overseas has been stolen from the counter of a Lindenhurst repair shop.
Kim Llompart, who owns King Bear Auto Center on Sunrise Highway with her husband Rob, said a young man came into the repair shop on Tuesday morning and stole the jar, which contained abut $100.
The Llomparts’ daughter, Kaitlyn, is a Girl Scout and she set up the jar in order to send the Scouts’ famous cookies to those who serve our nation.
