Lindenhurst High's Tyler Hughes Named National Merit Scholarship Finalist
Tyler receives a Certificate of Merit.

Lindenhurst High School senior Tyler Hughes received a Certificate of Merit as he advanced to Finalist standing in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Finalists place among the top students who are recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Tyler has demonstrated high potential for future academic accomplishment through his distinguished performance.
Tyler has enriched himself with honor, AP and college credit bearing courses. This will result in him earning an Honors New York State Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation. In addition to his competitive course load, Tyler is involved in youth organizations such as with the Lindenhurst Peer Leadership Program and an organization known as Erase Racism and has a love for theatre.
“We extend a most sincere congratulations to Tyler on this well-deserved accolade,” said principal Dr. Christopher Gitz. “His dedication and diligence in and out of the classroom truly exemplify the school’s motto of leadership, honor and scholarship. Tyler will be a success in whatever path he chooses.”
