91-Year-Old Woman Dies After Being Hit By Car
The woman was trying to cross the street when she was hit.

Nassau police are investigating the death of a 91-year-old woman who was killed after being hit by a car while crossing the street in Island Park Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, the woman was crossing Long Beach Road from west to east, near Waterford Road, at 4:15 p.m. when she was struck by a 1997 Ford Aerostar van traveling south on Long Beach Road. Police say the woman suffered multiple trauma injuries. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead by a doctor.
The car was being driven by a 76-year-old woman, who was not injured. Police impounded the car for a brake and safety check.

The name of the victim is still being withheld, and police say the investigation is ongoing.
