
Jena Heneghan, a Point Lookout resident has a painting in the Chezar Art Studio Summer Show. It is running through August 29th at the Jericho Public Library.
Sheila Chezar- Hershkowitz, founder of the studio announced that the reception was a wonderful event with over 75 people who attended. The August show features paintings and drawings of 14 talented artists and students who have attended the studio since its opening in 2012.
Jena Heneghan is 17 years old and is starting her senior year at Holy Trinity High School in Hicksville. She has taken art classes there and she will take AP Art this coming year. So far, she has three college art credits from St. John’s University through the high school. This summer she spent a month studying art at Moore College of Art in Philadelphia.

Ms. Heneghan has always loved to draw and paint. She enjoys working with oils and is learning to enjoy pastels as well. Her favorite subject is landscapes. Jena would like to major in art therapy in college. The Point Lookout resident lives with her parents, who own Heneghan’s and eight siblings.
Sheila Chezar-Hershkowitz received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York City and also attended the Woodstock Summer School in Woodstock.
