Cops: Burglar Tampered With Safe in Freeport Village Hall
Incident happened this weekend, cops said.

A safe was tampered with during a break-in at Freeport Village Hall overnight Friday, according to Nassau County Police.
A custodian told police that he felt a cold breeze as he entered the building at 8:25 a.m. Saturday. He found a first floor window had been broken and called Freeport Police, cops said.

Investigators found that a safe that was near the first floor cashier had been tampered with but not opened. Nothing was stolen.
Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
