Life's Alterations: Clip, Clip, Clip, Sew, Sew, Sew

You think you know the stories behind people, but sometimes they surprise you.

By now, you know I have encountered many people on our beach and boards with beautiful life stories, and I’m so glad to share them with you. But there are more people and stories behind Long Beach's walls, windows, desks, and counters, too.

Let me tell you about one.

I met a man I had heard many good things about but had never encountered. That ended recently.

His name is Allen Schwartz, and he owns Laurel Dry Cleaners at Laurel Blvd. and Park Ave. As such, he’s a genial man; he likes people, he tells me. And he likes telling his stories to them. He says his store is his stage, and he’s a man who knows a lot about stages, you’ll see.

Many of you know Allen and have heard his stories, but you might not have heard—his story.
