LONG BEACH, NY — The Long Beach City Council will be holding a special meeting Tuesday night to discuss issuing millions of dollars in deficiency notes ahead of the proposed 2020-21 budget.

The city is looking to issue $4.25 million in deficiency notes to make up holes in its budget. The notes are only for covering the hole in the budget that can't be filled any other way.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the meeting will be conducted online instead of in person.

Residents can watch the meeting on the city's YouTube channel. Comments about the meeting must be submitted in advanced. Residents can do so by emailing the comments by 3 p.m. Tuesday to info@longbeachny.gov. Only comments related to the deficiency notes will be addressed.
