Long Beach Polar Bears Ready To Host Icy Plunge For Charity

The 25th annual splash benefits children with life-threatening illnesses.

LONG BEACH, NY — The Long Beach Polar Bears are about to take an icy plunge for the 25th time! On Sunday, Feb. 9 the Polar Bears and thousands of others will hit the water while raising money for children with life-threatening medical conditions.

The event takes place at the beach on Laurelton Boulevard. Registration begins at noon, with the splash set for 1:30 p.m.

Those participating must sign a waiver, which can be filled out in advance. No diving, belly flops or flips are allowed. Drinking alcohol is strictly prohibited.

All money raised will benefit Make-A-Wish. The Long Beach Polar Bears has raised over $9 million since 2000.
