Long Beach Synagogue Pays Tribute To Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The Shabbat services on January 13 will honor King's legacy.

LONG BEACH, NY — To commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday, Temple Emanu-El is holding special Shabbat services on Friday, Jan. 13.

Rabbi Jack Zanerhaft is running the services in honor of the memory and legacy of the civil rights icon.

On that same theme, the synagogue will have a lecture on Tuesday, Jan. 17.

The topic, "Why Be Kind," will explore an examination of Jewish sources on compassion. It is hosted by the Temple Emanu-El Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee.

Both events start at 7:30 p.m.
