Police: Masked Man With Gun Tried to Steal Woman's Car in Oceanside
Incident happened Thursday afternoon, police said.

A masked man with a gun tried to carjack a woman in front of her Oceanside home Thursday afternoon, according to Nassau County Police.
Detectives said the 67-year-old victim was approached by a man as she exited her 2000 Lexus on Henrietta Avenue. The subject revealed a black handgun and demanded the victim’s car keys, cops said.
The woman screamed, prompting her neighbors to call 911 and come out of their houses, police said.

The man fled west on foot down Henrietta Avenue, cops said. He was described as a black man, about 20 years old, with a fair complexion. He was wearing all black clothing and a black mask covering his face at the time, cops said.
Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
