Police: Rec Counselors Beat Minor
Duo charged with endangering the welfare of a child after incident at city-run facility.

Two counselors at the Long Beach Recreation Center were arrested after they allegedly beat up a minor at the city-run facility on Aug. 13.
According to Long Beach Police Department, the counselors, Andrew Judge, 18, and John Joyce, 19, both of Long Beach, beat up a 15-year-old counselor in training at the facility on West Bay Drive.
Eric Cregeen, the department’s public information officer, said that the minor was not seriously injured but did consult a physician for pain in his back and legs.

Both Judge and Joyce were charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
