Promoting Bike Safety, Long Beach Offers Free Helmets For Youngsters
The bicycle helmets will also be fitted at the Oct. 22 event.

LONG BEACH, NY — To promote safe bike riding for children, the city of Long Beach is giving free helmets.
They will be fitted for each person as part of the event.
It takes place on Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. in the Magnolia Center parking lot.

Helmets will be handed out to anyone between the ages of 2 and 12. Advanced registration is required online or by calling 516-705-7389 by a parent or guardian.
Distribution is limited, the city said on its website.
