Salute To Veterans Features Concert, Fireworks And Hot Dog Eating Contest
It takes place on Saturday, June 28 at Town Park Point Lookout.

POINT LOOKOUT, NY — Hot dogs and fireworks are a great way to kickoff summer and honor the country. As part of the Town of Hempstead's annual Salute to Veterans Concert and Fireworks show.
Three contests will be part of the Saturday, June 28 event at Town Park Point Lookout. You can sign up for a volleyball tournament, a sandcastle building competition and the hot dog eating competition.
The concert, fireworks and contests are all free.

Participants are encouraged to register prior to the event as space is limited. Signing up is on a first-come, first-served basis.
The hot dog eating contest challenges people to eat as many hot dogs within 10 minutes.

A concert by the Commodores and fireworks will wrap up the day's activities. The rain date is Sunday, June 29.
