Whales, Whales, Whales, This Time—So Close

They are at it again; yes, the whales of Long Beach are bursting from the sea. But this time, they're closer.

I’ve been biking the boards and shuffling through the sand for more whale fun in the sun and sea.

It’s difficult for me these days with a big lens and bulky tripod. But it does help my chances for some good shots.

The whales are best seen in Long Beach between October and November. They migrate south through the New York bight, of which Long Beach shore is a part.

There is not much free fun for us these days, but you can’t go wrong with a prolonged fine weather spell and a long boardwalk and shore.

I captured a lot of it to share with you. Some of it amazed me as the boats and behemoths came together off our shore.

And they were astonishingly close.

So, breathe the salt air, exercise, and lighten your post-election stress by viewing Whales, Whales, Whales, This Time—So Close.
