ACLD Foundation Raises $170,000 at Annual Golf Outing

The outing honored Mitch Cohen, President and CEO of DRP Solutions

ACLD Foundation’s Annual Golf Outing was a tremendous success, raising $170,000 for the exclusive benefit of Adults and Children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities, Inc. (ACLD). Held June 1 at Glen Head Country Club, the full day fundraiser brought together 180 golfers, sponsors, business leaders, and community supporters for a day of friendly competition, networking, and philanthropy.

The outing honored Mitch Cohen, President and CEO of DRP Solutions. Cohen was recognized for his longstanding commitment to ACLD and his advocacy for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

"Mitch’s connection to ACLD’s mission is deeply personal. Having a child with disabilities and experiencing the challenges that arise with providing care is nothing new to Mitch and his wife Daisy,” said President and CEO of ACLD, Rob Ciatto. “He is keenly aware of the challenges that go along with the responsibility and support of a loved one of varying abilities."

One of the event’s highlights came when Marlin Heely, a person supported in ACLD’s Day Services, shared her story and reflected on the impact ACLD has had on her life.

“[At my program] we do a lot of work in the community. We volunteer with Meals on Wheels, Island Harvest and other projects that help those in need,” said Heely.
